This just dropped and active tomorrow the 2nd of October 2025 until the 6th Of October 2025. I have no idea what this BVLOS trial is, my best guess one of those awful Drone In A Box (DIAB), Drones as a First Responder gigs. (DFR).
Its the Met Police and it looks like they are closing 10.86 sq NM of airspace for four days in London.
I can see two flights planned already for tomorrow that this will affect, perhaps they have an arrangement for them in place.
My wish for this BVLOS trial would be that it was David Walters NPAS Schiebel perhaps operating out of Lippitts Hill, because that’s the future of Police drone use.
The incident and accident rate as we have already seen from American DFR trials is just too high. It is a thing that will fail within 5 years as larger, safer, better platforms with proper endurance and sensors come online.
But it might not be a DFR trial at all.
If it is DFR let’s hope it’s at least a made in England DFR setup, otherwise it’s just data gathering for a foreign power that lives either East or West of the UK.
Neither can be trusted.
